GROUND SHEET XXL
Four cots, one floor
A 280 × 207 cm (110 × 81.5 in) CORDURA® ground sheet with a double-coated underside. Cots sold separately.
Two coatings on the ground side
The underside has a PU coating with a second, PVC coating over it. Together they keep ground damp and dirt from coming up through the sheet.
INVISTA CORDURA® on top
The top face is genuine CORDURA® polyester from INVISTA. It's tough but soft to the touch, dries quickly when it gets wet, and is made to hold its colour through sun and long use.
A sealed seam down the middle
The sheet is two panels joined across the centre. That seam is stitched, then sealed on the underside, so the needle holes aren't left open to the ground.
Bound edges, metal corner eyelets
Binding tape wraps every edge, and each of the four corners has a metal eyelet. Run a stake through them to hold the sheet flat and square.
Packs into its own pouch
Every sheet comes with a drawstring pouch in the same CORDURA® fabric and colour. The sheet weighs 3.23 kg (7.1 lb), and the pouch adds 160 g (5.6 oz).

How many cots fit on the CORDURA Ground Sheet XXL?
Up to four cots measuring 190 × 68 cm (74.8 × 26.8 in), placed side by side with their length along the 207 cm (81.5 in) side. Two cots at either end leave the middle open for a table or gear.
A 210 cm (82.7 in) cot is 3 cm (1.2 in) longer than that side, so its ends will sit just past the edge. Measure your own cot, legs included, before you plan a layout.
Is the ground sheet waterproof?
The underside has a PU coating with a PVC coating over it, and the centre seam is sealed. That construction is there to keep ground moisture and dirt from coming through. We don't have a hydrostatic-head rating for it, so we don't quote a waterproof figure.
Is it cut to fit a specific tent?
No. It's a 280 × 207 cm (110 × 81.5 in) rectangle, not a footprint shaped for one tent. If you lay it under a tent, fold or tuck any edge that sticks out past the tent floor, because an exposed edge can catch rain and run it underneath.
Which side goes down?
The coated side faces the ground and the CORDURA side with the theEarth label faces up. On the Black sheet the coated side is silver-grey, so the two are easy to tell apart.
What colours does it come in?
Black, Tan, Black Multicam and Multicam. The two camo colourways use theEarth's own camo pattern, and every sheet comes with a storage pouch in the matching colour.
How much does it weigh packed?
The sheet is 3.23 kg (7.1 lb) and the pouch 160 g (5.6 oz), about 3.4 kg (7.5 lb) together. That's a car-camping load rather than something to carry on a backpacking trip.

A ground sheet usually goes wrong in one of two ways. It's too small for everyone's cot, or too thin to keep the damp out. This one is 280 × 207 cm (110 × 81.5 in), enough for four 190 × 68 cm cots side by side, and it's coated twice on the side that faces the dirt.
The detail worth noticing is the seam. The sheet is two panels joined across the middle, and that join is sealed underneath rather than left as bare stitching. Measure your cots before you plan on four. Wider or longer frames won't all fit across.
