This addresses the only reason I wasn't going to get a Skycamp 3.0 mini - sufficient rain coverage over the door/ladder in really wet weather.
It zips on easily and requires two guy lines to be staked down. They don't require a lot of tension, so if the ground isn't suitable you can tie off to pretty much anything in camp or a smallish branch etc.
I wasn't sure what to expect from the see-through vinyl. Sometimes vinyl inserts on other products can feel cheap, plastic-y, or brittle. This is the opposite - supple, quality build/design, and fairly thick. Overall, my first impressions are really positive. Customer service/packaging/shipping all 5 stars. (not affiliated at all)
I wanted the IKamper Skycamp rain canopy I wanted a little more protection from the elements for when you are stuck in the tent on those rainy days when you don't have the canopy or annex attached. Although the IKamper website says it fits the Skycamp 2.0 and the Skycamp 2X, I confirmed with IKamper before I bought it that it also fits the Kickstarter model (Skycamp 1.0)
Easy setup, and folds down into a nice compact package for storage.
I absolutely love the Tent. Very well designed. Sleep anywhere and setup in a minute.
The vinyl canopy is quick and easy to setup and put away. Simply zip it on and run a couple guy lines into the ground.
When installed, it provides extra coverage over the ladder and over the main door. It is transparent and slightly tinted so your view is not obstructed.
