We got the chance to try out BIGANT Smart Collapsible Crates the last two weeks during our outdoor adventures and we immediately fell in love with them. First Impression
Rachael and I ended up getting two 48-liter crates with the side door design, along with some cool outdoor accessories. The first time we used our BIGANT crate, we could instantly tell it was a step up in quality; it felt smooth, strong, and surprisingly light. The rounded edges were a nice touch, making it comfortable to carry even when the crates were loaded up. Plus, our stuff stayed in great shape without getting scratched or damaged like it would in a regular crate. The lack of sharp edges meant we could carry them for a long time without any hand pain. We also loved the snap locks for folding and unfolding the crates; it was super easy and felt really secure on our first try. You could definitely hear that satisfying ‘snap’ when everything was locked in place. Next, we started experimenting with some of the accessories and right away we knew we were going to hold on to our crates because of them. The BIGANT accessories transform their crates into a bunch of versatile functions and its our favorite. We’ll dive deeper into this aspect in our review below.
Overall, our first impression was awesome! Though, the more we continue to use our crates, the more we love them. It’s like with anything good—the more time you spend with it, the better it gets.

Food and Drink Cooler
Available from BIGANT is a cool soft cooler bag which fits perfectly in our 48-liter crates. It’s obvious a cooler bag is great for drinks and food, though we also love this setup for our fishing journeys. Anytime we catch a fish for diner, we simply load up our BIGANT cooler bag with cold water or ice, put our catch in the crate and all stays fresh and safe. This guarantees us a tasty fresh fish when we are ready to cook up. And on those days when the fish aren’t biting, the crate stays collapse and doesn’t take up any space in our truck. Plus, both the cooler bag and crate are super easy to clean—nobody wants that old fish smell lingering around. We simply love how our BIGANT crates doubles as a cooler!
Outdoor Stove
Cooking outdoors is just the best, right? Well, our BIGANT crates transform into a stove and cutting board table which is our favourite utilization of our crates. In just a few seconds, you can pop a propane stove on top (part of the BIGANT accessories) and start whipping up a meal. It’s incredibly easy and fun to use. This setup comes in very handy on those bad weather days which we have to either cook inside our IKamper roof top tent or quickly move the stove to a sheltered area. We can’t explain how good the BIGANT crates work in our IKamper with the built-in stove. We’ve tried other options, but we were always worried about burning the tent or dealing with tricky logistics since they were not stable enough, too low or too big. The height and stability of the crates are perfect in our IKamper. And let’s not forget, it’s a crate! You can stash all your cooking gear inside, making it a complete all-in-one outdoor kitchen solution. This also works well with multiple stacked up crates to either raise the stove or have a side cutting board table. It’s all very customisable and fun!
Outdoor Table
BIGANT offers a wooden tabletop accessory that turns our 48-liter crates into a handy table. It might not replace a bigger table depending on your activity or group size, however we appreciate compact solutions, and this is perfect for us. Having the ability to quickly deploy a table that can withstand bad weather, easy to move around and can be raised by stacking up two crates is a pleasure on our adventures. We mainly use it for playing games, repairing gear, prepping meals, making cocktails, eating and even sitting on it. Once everything’s finished, it just takes a few seconds to break down the crate, stack the wooden table on top, and load it all into our vehicle, storage, or tent.
Roof Top Tent Organizer
We really enjoy having a BIGANT crate in our IKamper. As mentioned before, these crates fit like a glove in our setup. At just under 12 inches tall, it serves us as a table, seat, and organizer inside our RTT. Our 48-Liter model is spacious enough to stash our muddy boots through the side door, which helps us keep the tent clean on those rainy and snowy days. We also find it handy for storing things we often misplace in the tent, like our toiletry kit, cleaning supplies, safety gear, and lights. An awesome addition, as you guessed from our previous point, is the wooden tabletop accessory. It provides an elevated surface for our electronics, making a meal, placing our light, playing games, or doing some work. This is something we’ve never had over the years staying in our IKamper and now we can’t go without it.
Wood Carrier
It’s nice to have a collapsible crate on the go that allows you to carry wood from your working area to camp. It saves us a tone of trips, it’s safer and allows us to put our equipment in it. Also on rainy days we all know how wet wood will drench your coat when carrying a bundle – this avoids all that.
A Place to Sit
These crates are designed to support significant weight, making them ideal as a seating platform with the wooden top accessory. The manufacturer has conducted tests by stacking two crates with a pallet and placing a full-sized car on top, demonstrating their strength. Basically BIGANT crates are not going to put you on the ground when sitting on them. When its time to relocate, simply collapse the crate which stacks up with the wooden top and off you go in seconds. Very convenient! We enjoy this as it avoids us to bring a chair for those quick in and out.
